About the Opportunity:
Embark on an exciting journey as a Senior Accountant with our client, a leading private aviation company focused on operational efficiency and personalized customer service. Based in San Antonio, Texas, this role invites you to be a vital part of their Accounting & Finance team. Responsibilities
- Analyze costs by flight trip, focusing on direct and operational expenses.
- Conduct revenue and profitability analysis and resolve significant variances.
- Oversee revenue recognition accounting, including unearned and deferred revenue and trip completion analysis.
- Prepare bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
- Assist with monthly financial reports and supporting schedules for the CFO.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and cash management support.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements, including aviation-related tax regulations.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Accounting, and Inventory Accounting.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with revenue recognition and unearned/deferred revenue.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet monthly deadlines.
- Full-time, in-office position in San Antonio, Texas, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aviation, transportation, or related industries.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with tax compliance and internal control development.
- Proficiency with data tools or automation to improve accounting processes.
