Responsibilities:
- Ensure masking and surface preparation are completed before painting.
- Sand primer and prep aircraft surfaces as needed.
- Clean aircraft using thinner and ensure the paint booth is washed and ready.
- Apply topcoat layers and layout stripe schemes for trim colors.
- Prep and scuff surfaces for trim paint, then re-mask and detail aircraft.
- Inspect completed paint, strip, and sand jobs to meet quality standards.
- Mix and apply paint materials per specifications.
- Operate equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts (certification preferred).
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Lead or Manager to support maintenance and operational goals.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- 5–10 years of recent experience in stripping, sanding, priming, and painting corporate or commercial aircraft.
- Valid driver’s license; U.S. Passport preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and renderings.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug/alcohol testing per FAA regulations.
- Ability to wear protective gear and pass a pulmonary physical and respirator fit test.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
- Flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Forklift and Scissor Lift Certifications preferred.
- Experience with aviation maintenance software (e.g., Corridor) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in noisy, industrial environments and tight spaces.
