About the Opportunity:
Join our client, a leading private aviation helicopter company in the NYC Metro area, seeking a skilled Corporate Controller. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise and drive financial innovations in a dynamic aviation environment. You'll be a key player in advancing internal reporting processes, supporting financial audits, and impacting the company's growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accuracy of general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
- Assist management with budgets, forecasts, cash flow reporting, and financial variance analysis.
- Develop and evaluate budgets and prepare comprehensive budget reports.
- Manage the month-end close process and coordinate financial planning with managers and the CEO.
- Support annual audits by preparing documentation and providing explanations as needed.
- Analyze cost and expense trends and provide recommendations for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely collections and monitoring aged receivables.
- Implement and support internal control systems.
- Lead billing automation and system connectivity projects.
- Oversee the employee expense reimbursement process and related systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; aviation or hospitality industry experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial reporting, analysis, and external audit preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site at Linden Municipal Airport in Linden, NJ.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an Accountant, Assistant Controller, or in a similar accounting role.
- CPA license preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong PowerPoint proficiency.
