About the Opportunity:
Join our client, a well-established Part 145 avionics shop located at John Wayne Airport (KSNA) in Orange County, CA. Our client serves corporate jet and high-performance piston/turboprop owners, providing top-tier avionics services. They are seeking a dynamic Production Manager committed to excellence both on the floor and on the aircraft. Responsibilities
- Set and maintain delivery dates to ensure consistent on-time completion.
- Control aircraft induction and ensure complete, verified parts kits are available before entry.
- Maintain the daily WIP board, tracking aircraft status, scope, labor hours, parts, and discoveries.
- Allocate technicians efficiently to maximize productivity and avoid resource shortages.
- Manage scope discoveries by identifying changes early, pricing work, obtaining approvals, and adjusting timelines.
- Coordinate certification paperwork alongside installations to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Coordinate with avionics vendors and AOG suppliers to manage parts and delivery schedules.
- Lead daily team stand-ups and support technician development.
- Perform hands-on avionics installations when additional technical support is needed.
- Assist with complex, highly integrated avionics installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenging technical issues.
- Conduct functional checks and final inspections to ensure systems and workmanship meet company standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Part 145 avionics environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in a lead, production-control, or similar supervisory role.
- Recent, hands-on avionics experience that can be demonstrated during an interview.
- Active A&P certificate required; IA preferred.
- Experience working on corporate and business aircraft, including Gulfstream, Falcon, and similar aircraft.
- Experience with modern integrated flight decks and retrofit programs, including Garmin, Collins, and Honeywell systems.
- Strong knowledge of FAR Part 43 and Part 145 regulations.
